Our Expectations on Cleanup
Rental cost is for the use of the
cottage only and does not include cleaning.
Failure to remove basic grime and dirt will result in a cleaning fee (at
$65.00 per person hour) deducted from the security deposit.
To avoid any misunderstandings
we have included this checklist. Basically, we request you to return the
cottage to its original state. We handle all the heavy cleaning, you
just tidy up and put things back the way you found them.
Here is what we expect:
Living Room
q
Wipe coffee and end table of anything left
behind, turn off fireplace
q
Swifter (sweep) the floor for
major crumbs, toys, chips and peanuts etc.
q
Tidy living and dinning room chairs
returning them to their original locations.
q
Vacuum any dog hair on furniture or floors
Dinning Room
q
Wipe down dinning room table, table mats
remove any grime from chairs
Kitchen
q
Wipe down and thoroughly clean kitchen
counters
q
Empty garbage pail including any garbage
under the plastic bag in garbage pail
q
Clean top stove, wipe up spills in
oven (the oven is self cleaning and we
will handle that). Do not use oven cleaners.

Put pots in drawers
q
Empty and rinse coffee filter & coffee pot
q
Empty fridge, remove all food except ice, wash spills
q
Empty dish washer. If you are pressed for
time, leave it running but manually wash all pots and pans.
q
Clean sink remove food remnants from
drains
q
Clean microwave spills, wash splashes and
remove grime
q
Put used dish cloths/towels on Washing
machine in laundry room there is no need to wash them.
Bathrooms
q
Empty garbage pails
q
Wipe up any spills/grime, we will wash
toilets and sinks and floor
Bedrooms
q
Check bed. If accidents occurred remove
bedding, please wash/dry the mattress covers and replace on beds.
q
Replace quilts
q
Put blankets in closets
q
Empty garbage pails
Deck
q
Return chairs to table wipe off grease
q
Empty cigarette butts from cans and tin
dog
q
Empty cigarette butts from the can at dock
q
Empty garbage pail at back door
q
We clean the BBQ if there is loose food
on the grill, please remove it.
Hopefully this is not too much to
ask. We do the hard stuff, you just remove the basic grime.
